Friday 15 April Redcliffe

G'day,

Several changes in plans: my anticipated talk at the University was scrubbed as our visit  fell during their spring break (no Ann, not from student apathy toward the subject).  This caused us to settle in on the outskirts of Brisbane, a northern burb called Redcliffe, for three days in a nice apartment. (Both our previously scheduled stays had been canceled. As this is the two week Spring/Easter holiday, we had to scramble to find a place to stay. Everything was booked pretty solidly which is why we did not stay in Brisbane proper. However, we love where we ended up.)   We can walk all over, and right next door is a major RSL (returned service person equivalent of the American Legion), which we promptly joined.  Patriotism trumps better prices on food/drinks.  Weather here wonderful. Sunny, in the 80’s.
This morning we bus/train into Brisbane to pick up a rental car needed for the next five days, and to select a hotel for our return through Brisbane pre flying to Sydney on the 21st.  Tomorrow we drive north, to stay one night in the Glass Mountains, and then begin our three days in the coastal town of Noosa. We are suddenly looking at our last two weeks. Cannot believe it!

Last meal at Bel Cipo (Beautiful food) in Oort Douglas...superb!

Remember snags??!!
