Wonderful day with Susan and Jay. Their house is just amazing. Fourteen feet ceilings, big airy rooms, wonderful views. Susan made gazpacho and Jay prepared crab. Delish!!! Susan took us for a drive and then a walk. Went also to the black (iron) beach on the Tasman Sea. So glad we had this stop.

The Christchurch earthquake has devastated that city. This is the 4,000th tremor /earthquake the city has experienced in six months. Two hundred people are missing. Fifty percent have no electricity' 80 percent have not running water
