Touchdown Auckland

So here we are... long travel days that still have us staggering around a bit off keel! Hotel is just that  - a hotel.  But wonderfully centrally located. We walked and walked today. The feel of this city reminds us both of islands, of Maui (especially the drive in from the airport). Very warm and high humidity. We are so glad to have three days to regroup before driving off on the left side of the road. Even the roundabouts have you entering form the left. And often pedestrians walk as they drive, passing each other on the right.
Tomorrow we set out for three day tour of Bay of Islands. Will include swim with dolphins, beach walking, lighthouse visiting, optional sand surfing, visit of historic Maori sacred buildings and grounds, Cape Reinga, 'tea' and more.
Flat?  Not actually!   Overcast, but very warm... yummm!

Our shuttle...saw pick-ups and vans pulling ad-ons everywhere!

The Sky Tower from where I watched a guy jump off that platform (on a wire) and land in a cafe....

See him? Left, arms spread out?

At night... much more fun!

People are so very nice. I am not sure the word 'stress' as we know it is familiar here!
Off to bed. Early pick-up tomorrow.
